JWST_4Jan2330-5Jan0000This is the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) en route to its final destination at L2 some 900,000 miles from Earth. This looping animation is based on two separate images captured at 23:30UT on 4 January and 00:10UT on 5 January using a ZWO ASI178MC-Cool camera attached to a Canon EF 200mm f/2.8 L II prime lens. The faintest background stars in the constellation of Monocerotis are around 16th magnitude. At the time, JWST was about 557,000 miles distant.
